@BillyJimmyBobbyTimmy pls be more polite…and who told you that Dream Theater is all that? Just to explain myself…I Love Dream Theater’s music…and is your right to think that they are better than any other band…it’s just personal taste…I would agree with you if you tell me “I like Dream Theater more than Maiden or Priest or Dio”… but you could never know if they are more technical…? RAINBOW where more technical…how about that?
@Sermonized747 Jesus Christ dude stfu…DT has so much more knowledge of instruments and music theory that Maiden…if they tried to explain the technical aspect of one of their songs…Maiden’s head would fucking explode. DT is a prog band, Maiden is just metal. They play the same riffs over and over, bruce hits the same strained notes over and over. DT = more creative, harder working, more technical. Talk about your maiden love on a maiden video you fucking scrub. Don’t need it here.

This is actually first time that I hear this cover from Dream Theater. As person who has heard orginal masterpiece from Iron Maiden I must admit that this is actually rather good cover. Its not bad at all.

@Sermonized747 Yeah, all of the bands you named are great. I’m a guitarist too and Ritchie Blackmore is one of my biggest influences. I agree, speed and technique are pretty much useless if you can’t actually write good songs. Both Maiden and Dream Theater can compose great music imo. I don’t really think that there are any better bands, it just depends which band’s sound you prefer more.

…i ‘m a lead guitarist for 12 years now and i have my own band…speed and technique in music means almost nothing…i ‘d rather like to think simply over this topic….MAIDEN SOUND BETTER = MAIDEN ARE BETTER

@Sermonized747 Nah, I love both bands, Iron Maiden is my favourite band of all time, but Dream Theater are more technical musicians. I think that Maiden wouldn’t be able to play a few of DT’s extremely technical songs. John Petrucci is more technical than all of Maiden’s guitarists, but I like Adrian Smith’s solos a bit more. Mike Portnoy is probably a little more technical than Nicko McBrain. Steve Harris and John Myung are about equal. Which band is better depends on personal taste though.

Good cover, and yea, James is no Bruce, but don’t forget that Bruce ain’t James either, and I’m sure he couldn’t cover James early stuff, not even close. Anyway, two great bands, my two favorite ones, may they rock on for many years still.
What is the problem with you people? Dream Theater is a great band…but Maiden are superior…simple as that…you think Bruce is better than James and thats it? NO!!! Maiden are far better than Theater…one by one…

@antmax Yep Bruce had soo much in his back in the day. It really shows when other singers try to cover Maiden stuff. Nobody i can touch Bruce.
I much prefer the Iron Maiden version which feels more powerful and much better vocals to me. But this is better than expected.
