  • I loved this book and was sad when I finished. I thought the book was very well written. It may have something to do with the 220 interviews the author conducted to give a really clear and precise timetable for the Versace family and the world of fashion. Should be required reading for anyone entering the field of fashion or marketiing.

  • Biz WSJ writer who has lived in Europe for 15 years wrote the company full-scale biography of the tragedy of Versace, and is a great reading in all its pathos. She has received the full cooperation of everyone, but Allegra Versace, daughter of Donatella and heiress of the house of Versace since his late uncle, he wanted everything when she was 12. Donatella drug is not safe here, but do not receive fair treatment that we can see exactly what they must overcome to Gianni Versace was murdered in Miami and left to replace him as the genius of the design. It was not up, but by confusion. End of recent history, but history of Versace is still evolving. The main shortcoming is the relative lack of good photos. We received several shots generic Casa Casuarina, the Ocean Drive mansion where Versace was gunned down. But none of the workshop in Milan, where all the clothes are designed and where much of the story unfolds.

  • The history of the Versace family is fascinating. It is essentially a story of rags to riches with celebrities, Rock n ‘Roll “, and kill more mixed, there is a final movement, when Donatella descends into drugs, nearly destroyed the company, and then fight Returning from the depths and emerges again to live another day. It would be a happy ending, unless the company is still struggling Versace and heiress, Allegra, is still struggling with the consequences of all.
In less sure hands, the excess material from the top overwhelm the author. Deborah Ball did an excellent job of capturing the drama and pathos while getting the correct information. The result is a look behind the scenes of life in the fast lane to both provide insight into the inner life of characthers. The book uses the story of the family as a way to see changes in the fashion world in recent decades and the impact that Gianni had in him. So, those seeking an overview of the fashion business, and knowledge of consumer tastes and how the firm’s fashion is concerned, would find food for thought here. And it feels like a mish-mash of warmed clippings former because it is clearly documented. Time the author as a journalist for fashion in Italy clearly contributes to the authentic book.

  • Normally, I do not mind high fashion, but this book is fascinating because it describes the excesses of the 80s and 90s. I always read and have yet to kill, but I know that some of the new story at the time. Read!

  • Being addicted to fashion, I thought I would like this book, but I was wrong I loved. The World of Gianni Versace and his family is very intense. The author describes his life as a young man in Italy until her death beautifully. The impact it had on many people in the world of fashion and in his personal life is extrodinary. It is my watch Project Runway and America’s Next Top Model in a new light, and what these potential creators are facing in this world. I also like the personalities of different models from the runway and how Versace chose to deal with them. I had trouble putting this book. I’m glad it’s part of my library and reread again and again. Do not disappoint and should be required reading for all.
